Dr. Zendi has been working in pediatrics and mental health for over 20 years. She works with children, adolescents and young adults, integrating her conventional medical background in pediatrics and psychiatry with more natural, holistic, and functional healing modalities to help people attain the highest level of health and wellness. She is particularly interested in nutrition and the gut-brain relationship in conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress-related conditions, and gut disorders like IBS. Dr. Zendi has a PhD in Nursing from the University of Rochester, NY, with a specialty focus in Adolescent Mental Health. Dr Zendi is board certified as both a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has completed advanced training in the following areas: Holistic Nutrition and Health Coaching through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Integrative Psychiatry through multiple Integrative Medicine for Mental Health Conferences, and Functional Medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine. Billie Jo Young is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in the treatment of chronic conditions such as Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS), Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS), and the biomedical treatment of Autism. She loves a challenge and enjoys researching complicated medical cases and solving medical mysteries that deliver true healing through Functional Medicine. Billie Jo came to find Functional Medicine after her son was diagnosed with Autism and she was able to help him improve his symptoms with this approach. Because of her own background, she has a passion for working with children and their families to overcome serious medical and behavioral challenges. Billie Jo started her career as an RN and gained broad experience in surgery, labor and delivery, oncology, urology, hospice, and pediatrics at both Highland Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital. As a Family Nurse Practitioner she continued to gain broad experience while working at Eastside Urgent Care, Grace Family Medicine, and Strong Memorial Emergency Department. Billie Jo has a BA in Arts Archaeology & Ancient Civilizations, cum laude, a BS in Nursing, and an MS, Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Rochester and is trained in Functional Medicine from the Institute for Functional Medicine.
A Child & Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience, Pamela specializes in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties with children, drug and alcohol issues, parenting issues, and optimizing symptom management for individuals and families dealing with major mental illness. Pamela assists children and adults in healing, enhancing growth, family cohesiveness, and the ability to weather life's stressors. Pam can also provide Art Therapy which is particularly helpful when verbal communication is difficult. Her work has been described as engaging, playful, interactive, humorous, and gentle. She received her masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in 1992.
Karin is a Functional Nutritionist, National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, and an ICF Professional Certified Coach. She is incredibly passionate about holistic health and optimizing life so that people can experience life in a most joyful and confident way possible. When it comes to healing, Karin takes a powerful two-pronged approach. She uses functional medicine as a foundation to address the root cause of dysfunction in the body and couples that with proven coaching techniques to support her clients in transforming from default habits to unlocking their highest potential and creating new normals for themselves.
Lori is a Neurofeedback Specialist and seasoned Integrative Health Coach who specializes in children with complex chronic conditions including Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS), Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS), Lymes Disease, and the biomedical treatment of Autism. Lori found Functional Medicine after her son was diagnosed with severe Autism at age 2 and she was told he would never be able to function in society. After applying Functional Medicine principles and neurofeedback, he is now on the honor roll, runs track, and has lots of friends in mainstream high school. She uses her education and personal experience to gently guide and educate families working on nutrition and lifestyle changes and can help with 100,001 strategies for getting your picky kids to expand their horizons. Other areas of expertise include dietary supplements, navigating Medicaid Self-Direction, and school supports. Lori also has extensive experience in QEEG brain mapping and neurofeedback treatment. She is a wealth of information and families find her recommendations and resources invaluable. Lori was trained through Epidemic Answers and Braincore Neurofeedback.
Lori is an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and loves connecting with the people she works with to become a partner on their wellness journey. Lori enjoys eating a whole-food, plant-based diet and works with many of our patients who wish to implement this lifestyle (although she can help with any diet plan). Her background as a personal trainer is a plus to those patients and clients who wish to implement fitness into their life as part of their wellness plan. She specializes in helping individuals achieve optimal health through personalized care plans using a functional medicine approach. Lori trained with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and is Board Certified with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).
Jessie is a Neurofeedback Specialist trained in QEEG Brainmapping and Neurofeedback through Braincore Neurofeedback. She assists patients with all aspects of our neurofeedback services. Jessie found Functional Medicine when she was diagnosed with Lyme Disease several years ago and she became passionate about helping heal others. Jessie has prior experience as a licensed veterinary technician and loves animals – especially horses. She recently completed her BS in Biology from Binghamton University and is now pursuing a Masters Degree in Integrative Nutrition.
Amber is Dr. Zendi's business partner and takes care of all things back office. She has been an entrepreneur in biotechnology and healthcare for over 20 years. Amber started her career as a molecular biologist working on the Genome Project and went on to earn an MBA and start her first biotech company during graduate school. Later she was instrumental in making healthcare more accessible for people through Urgent Care Online and has worked to use technology to create new models of more accessible, cost effective care ever since. Amber has a passion for Functional Medicine because she has used it to heal her family and likes that it addresses the root cause of disease by marrying her early work in systems biology with clinical medicine.
Meredith is our Operations Manager who helps create streamlined systems to better serve you. No task is too big, no task is too small - she always takes the bull by the horns and gets it all done. She first learned about methods of Functional Medicine while living abroad in the Netherlands. She is very impressed with how it has helped her own health and would love to share the benefits with others. Meredith is powered with a background in imaging science and an MBA from Simon Business School.
Gillian (Gill) is our Front Desk Medical Receptionist with the lovely voice that answers the phones, manages the schedule and triages the flood of incoming requests. She has many years of experience juggling competing tasks with a smile.
Elena is our Medical Secretary who helps keep the trains running on time by calling to remind you of appointments and when labs are due. She makes sure supplements are in stock and is instrumental in keeping back office operations running smoothly.
Our therapy dog, Tucker, takes his job seriously and greets all visitors with enthusiasm and joy. He can be found alternately napping on the job or bringing guests his toys to show his delight with their visit.
